Red Cross Teacup. World War One

I came across this unique Red Cross teacup today at a thrift store in Ottawa.
A reliable source informed me that this may have come from a Canadian Red Cross tea room in a hospital.
Any additional information about this piece would be appreciated.
I just found out this is a "feeding cup" used by the Red Cross during wartime.
Solders injured or unable to feed themselves were fed food with Red Criss cups like this one
